Deputy Defense Minister did not promise anything
Members of the ‘Army in Reality' initiative group today met with Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan to discuss army problems.
After the 3-hour meeting human rights activist Arthur Sakunts said the meeting was initiated by the deputy minister. After long-run discussions, the sides agreed to meet anew to discuss the initiative's three demands.
"Firstly, we call for the release of Vardges Gaspari who was detained after yesterday's peaceful demonstration. Second, we are discontent with the expressions of Deputy Minister Vladimir Gasparyan. Finally, we want to exercise our right to free information," he said.
"Only after we receive their answer, shall we believe their pledges that they are eager to change the situation," he added.
