Hmayak Hovhannisyan advises following Russian example
Hmayak Hovhannisyan, President of the Union of Political Scientists, advises Armenian parties to follow the example of Vladimir Putin and United Russia (Yedinaya Rossia) and provide 40% of voting lists to freelance deputies.
"This is an effective approach. I have not contemplated over it but I shall consider all proposals of political parties in due time," Hovhannisyan told A1+, urging Armenian parties to follow Russian example and allow non-partisan deputies to be represented in parliament.
According to press reports, Hovhannisyan did not rule out the possibility that he might run for parliament on the party ticket of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK).
"It is too early to speak about it, the lists are not ready," he said.
