New stations to be built
The Armenian government today confirmed the RA "Plan for Strategic Development of the Sphere of Hydro-Energy", which establishes the government's goals, the principles for their implementation and the adequate targets.
With this document, the government expects to ensure additional energy with a force of 450 megawatts, expand the use of restorative energy resources, diminish Armenia's energetic dependence on imported carbon oxide fuel and reduce the extraction of thermal gas in the atmosphere that is caused by burning that fuel. The RA Public Services Regulatory Commission has been suggested to be guided by the strategy affirmed in the document when carrying out functions for regulating the sphere.
The government has also confirmed the RA program for reconstruction of the gas-chemical branch. By another decision, the government has suggested that the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission set the maximum force for small Hydro-Electric Stations up to 30 megawatts.
