On August 1, the train heading from Batumi to Yerevan arrived with a 4-hour delay.

The reason for the delay was the crash of a freight train in Georgia which occurred at 6p.m. on July 30. The train reportedly derailed near the town of Mtskheta, 20 km away form Tbilisi.

Georgia's Emergency Management Department said seven of the 14 crashed cars were carrying oil, others were filled with food. The oil poured out after the accident, causing major concerns and discomfort in the neghbouring area.

Due to the accident, Yerevan-Batumi train was delayed by eight hours on July 31.

The Russian-run South Caucasus Railways (SCR) informed A1+ that departures and arrivals already follow the fixed schedule and Yerevan-Batumi train will depart at 3.00 p.m.
