HHK thinks it can convince HAK
Including the issue of snap elections on the agenda of the Armenian National Congress (HAK)-authorities dialogue still doesn't mean that there will be snap elections in Armenia. This is the view that the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) expressed during the dialogue.
"We have agreed to discuss the issue and include it on the agenda," HHK MP Gagik Minasyan told "A1+".
According to him, the HAK's explanation of the need for snap elections in Armenia is not sufficient in its proposal composed of three parts. The first part refers to the current situation, the second refers to the proposal of snap elections and the third part refers to a solution. Gagik Minasyan says the description of the situation is flawed and should become a topic for discussion during the next meeting.
HAK representative Felix Khachatryan is surprised by Gagik Minasyan's viewpoints. Khachatryan doesn't understand what Minasyan means when he says the facts are not convincing. "Everyone knows that the elections were falsified. The authorities don't take into account March 1. Doesn't that serve as grounds for holding snap elections?"
HHK representative Gagik Minasyan doesn't think there will be snap elections in Armenia now and hopes that the HAK will come to the same conclusion during the dialogue. "I think our arguments are much stronger and we will be able to convince our partners that there are many things in the three parts of their proposal that don't correspond to the reality. I think the HAK will reconsider its positions."
Felix Khachatryan is more than sure that the authorities won't be able to deny the HAK's facts during the dialogue. "If we see that the dialogue is fruitless, there will be a barrier, which will lead to mass events and the people's expression of their will."
Unlike the HHK representative, HAK member Felix Khachatryan finds that there is no alternative to snap elections to change the state of affairs in Armenia.
