People's TV Trust activating its work
The Board of Trustees of "People's Television Foundation" (hereinafter People's TV Trust) will convene a sitting on July 28 to discuss the foundation's further programs and activities.
Ashot Melikyan, Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Freedom of Speech, says the People's TV Trust is activating its work and is going to elect a coordinator who will bring about the board's decisions.
"The coordinator must be well known to the public and journalists and well informed of broadcasting industry," said Melikyan.
Melikyan says the money donated to the Board over the past few months will be spent on the creation and broadcast of a non-profit program.
"The money will be spent for creative purposes," he said adding that the first program will be about citizens whose property was alienated from for the so-called "state needs."
Melikyan believes that the existence of a people's TV is a must against the background of today's grey and gloomy television.
"Our people do not need low-quality soap operas and shows. They want to see tasty programs and shows instead of grey TV production," he concluded.
