“Our authorities are worse than kleptocrats”
Relatives of the victims of the March 1, 2008 tragic events were insulted by sociologist Aharon Adibekyan who said that during the deadly post-election clashes the Armenian authorities opened fire "at a mob."
"How can a man who considers himself a scientist make such a statement?" said Alla Hovhannisyan, mother of March 1 victim Tigran Khachatryan.
She advises Armenian authorities to listen to their scientists instead of praising the country's "democratic" achievements in international structures.
"If Armenia has really taken the path of democracy, our authorities should care for each citizen," said Hovhannisyan.
"The word "kleptocracy" used by the opposition Armenian National Congress to describe the acting regime is mildly used. The authorities are even worse than kleptocrats and Mongol Tartars. It is cynical to call our innocent children a "mob," said the desperate mother.
