No outflow of capital?
The government has clear notions of the outflow of capital, and there is no alarm. This is what Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan mentioned during a meeting with intellectuals at the scholars' monastery in Oshakan.
"The government is conducting a detailed study on capital flows and the country's balance. The Central Bank implements that function professionally. Of course, there are certain cases when our compatriots don't build factories in Armenia, but abroad, even though they make money in Armenia. On the other hand, leading a liberal policy, we can't set restrictions against Armenian businessmen. We must take into account that businessmen must diversify their risks and this is something that is in the country's interests. If businessmen have more diversified businesses in Armenia, that will ensure our country's economic stability," said Tigran Sargsyan.
The prime minister also said that he had met with businessmen who have made investments in Georgia. "There hasn't been a case of a reasonable incentive for economy. For instance, I have met with businessmen who are creating a platform for processing the raw material for medicine in Georgia. Based on their explanations, we can see that they will ensure the stable supply of raw material to Armenia and will take over the markets of three countries of the region that are involved in this sphere. It is clear that such phenomena are not dangerous. They will be dangerous if businessmen stop doing business in Armenia, and there are no such cases today," the prime minister underlined.
