"If human rights are violated nationwide, what are we celebrating today?" says citizen Vardan Harutyunyan.

Most citizens say the Armenian government has been breaching the Constitution that was adopted 16 years ago.

"The breaches start from the government. What should the people do in this situation?" asks pensioner Gagik Mkhitaryan.

"Those who wrote the Constitution are the ones breaching it," citizen Armen Navasardyan said.

What is necessary for the Constitution to function or to have the government function in accordance with the Constitution?

"The only thing necessary is the will. Today, the government not only doesn't protect human rights, but doesn't even take them into account. For instance, the right to labor or the right to vacation," says 44-year old Astghik Petrosyan.

Citizens say they are incapable of changing any laws and fight for justice because that would be like a struggle in a fairy tale.

"It is useless. Who can you fight against? How can I fight against the oligarchs?" said pensioner Gagik Mkhitaryan.

"Who can you go to? They ask for money wherever you go. In order for a state to develop, the laws must be enforced. If there are no laws, then there is no Constitution," said Artashes Petrosyan.

The only thing that reminded them that today was a celebration was that it was a non-working day.
