Leader of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK), Levon Ter-Petrosyan, will respond to the statement of President Serzh Sargsyan during the opposition's June 30 rally, said HAK Coordinator Levon Zurabyan.

The HAK representative urged the authorities to put an end to informational blockade of the HAK and stop blocking transport routes on the days of opposition rallies.

He also called on the police and the National Security Service (NSS) to give up the practice of spreading disinformation and to stop interpreting the dialogue between the opposition and authorities as a pre-arranged deal.

"They have even announced that Levon Ter-Petrosyan agreed to become Speaker of the National Assembly," Zurabyan told a news conference on Friday.
The HAK official advises shifting from half-measures to full-fledged negotiations, citing it as a fruitful format of talks.

"System changes that will lead to the formation of legitimate authorities is the only acceptable outcome of the dialogue," he stressed.

According to Zurabyan, HAK's position on the trilateral presidential meeting in Kazan is conditioned by two factors: first is the document itself and second, the reaction of the people and authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"We shall never draw conclusions unless we get familiarized with the document," he said adding that HAK remains an ardent advocate of NKR's self-determination and appreciates Karabakh's response.

"Whatever will be important for the NKR people and authorities, will be important for the HAK," he said.
