Will Serzh Sargsyan sign document in Kazan?

Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are expected to sign a document in Kazan the contents of which remains strictly confidential, Commersant daily writes.

According to the newspaper, a road map is pending signature by the two countries' leaders. The Presidents will first sign the Basic Principles in settling the conflict and then work on a peace agreement brokered by Russia, U.S. and France.

Armenia is expected to return the six occupied districts around Nagorno-Karabakh and 13 villages in Lachin region. International peacekeepers will ensure security in these areas. And there will be a corridor linking Armenia to Karabakh in the Lachin region.

The legal status of Nagorno-Karabakh will be determined in a few years by a referendum only after the return of refugees. the sides will withdraw from use of force through a legally binding document.

The delegation headed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Kazan earlier on Friday. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials met Aliyev at Kazan international airport.

The Presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan will meet in Kazan today in an attempt to move closer to a settlement of the Karabakh conflict. The Kazan meeting initiated by the Russian President will be the ninth trilateral meeting between the presidents.
In 2008-2011, the three leaders held three meetings in Saint Petersburg, two in Moscow and in Sochi, and one in Astrakhan. Three documents have been adopted during those meetings - Mindorf declaration in 2008, statement of Astrakhan in 2010 and state of Sochi in 2011.
