Foreign Minister: "Armenia has given a clear response"

On June 9, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan met OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Bernard Fassier, Robert Bradtke, Igor Popov and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Anjey Kasprshik.

During the meeting, the Co-Chairs presented the minister with the results of their meetings in Baku and Stepanakert, and voiced hope for progress in an agreement on the basic principles for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution during the upcoming meeting in Kazan.

The Armenian foreign minister stressed that Armenia has given a clear response to the Co-Chairs' latest version of the Basic Principles and that the expected progress will be registered if Azerbaijan gives its consent.

"Do the Azerbaijani officials' statements on peacekeeping forces and other issues that distort the essence of the process of negotiations even after Deauville show Baku's willingness to give its consent to amendments and additions to the proposals that the co-chairs have called for?" asked Edward Nalbandyan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed preparations for the trilateral meeting in Kazan, reports the MFA press service.
