"The authorities crossed the Rubicon"

Politics

During today's rally, leader of "Republic" political party Aram Sargsyan announced that today was the ANC's parade because it was a real, moral victory.

"Our struggle led to tangible results. We are in Freedom Square, the page of March 1 has been opened again and investigation is underway and our friends, former political prisoners are with us," said Sargsyan, adding that the authorities crossed the Rubicon and no longer have a path back to their trenches.

Sargsyan said the authorities have realized that the process is only the beginning and will inevitably continue.

Aram Sargsyan mentioned that in its recent statements, the international community has not only been touching upon the authorities, but the opposition as well and this means that the ANC currently has a weighty influence and will be an agent for change.

"Democracy is the only way out of the current situation," announced Aram Sargsyan.

Touching upon the possible dialogue between the ANC and the authorities, he announced that that was inevitable.

"We face serious challenges and that is why we should not be vulnerable. For that, we need legitimate authorities that will only be established through snap elections."

Former political prisoner, editor-in-chief of "Haykakan Zhamanak" daily newspaper Nikol Pashinyan welcomed everyone and all ANC youth activists who had been holding political meetings near Saryan's statue for the last three years.

"By breaking the information blockade, all citizens of Armenia informed that a political process has begun and the country is preparing for snap elections," said Pashinyan.
