The ANC is not cooperating for the sake of cooperation or to serve the nation, but to come to power, Head of "Sociometer" Sociological Center Aharon Adibekyan said during today's press conference.

"The ANC is trying to take over the entire field of the opposition. By coming to the center, it has the opportunity to come to terms with the authorities. But the ANC's ambition is to be the first and the authorities won't allow that," said Aharon Adibekyan.

The sociologist also doesn't envision an alliance between the ARF, "Heritage" and the ANC. According to him, the ANC leader has treated Raffi Hovhanissian unfairly and didn't even apologize for that.

"He dismissed Raffi Hovhanissian from the post of foreign minister because he was speaking about the Armenian Cause, which was not part of the then HHSh leader's plans as a primary issue," says the sociologist.

Adibekyan is also interested in whether the ANC or "Prosperous Armenia" will be second in the upcoming parliamentary elections. According to him, the PAP exceeds the ANC in terms of resources, but the ANC has a higher reputation among the opposition parties.

"The extreme opposition among Levon Ter-Petrosyan's potential electorate is offended and has started criticizing the opposition for becoming center-oriented and rejecting the left-wing formulas. The extreme opposition may lose 8-10 percent of our calculated votes. The question is how many votes "Heritage" and the ARF can get back in this wing," said Adibekyan.
