U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovich says U.S. President Barack Obama's April 24 address, in which Obama failed to use the word "genocide" once again, was "powerful".

"Every year, we come here to pay tribute. I think you have read Obama's address according to which Americans have always stood by the Armenian people's side. The U.S. President's statement remains unchanged. It is a very powerful statement, which is dedicated to the Armenian people. Obama's position is clear and remains unchanged. That statement says it all and it is impossible to say more than that," Mrs. Yovanovich told journalists.

What Yovanovich especially liked in Obama's address was the part stating that we must look toward the future and do everything possible so that such events never happen again.

Yovanovich says the fact that the day of the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide fell in line with Easter, that is, the Resurrection of Christ is symbolic.
