On April 7, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko got acquainted with the restoration of the memorial dedicated to the Russian soldiers who died in the 1827 battle in Oshakan. Ambassador Kovalenko is one of the project organizers.

As reported by the press center of "Oshakan Memorial Rebirth" project, the Ambassador presented the process to President of the "Act of Honor" Armenian-Russian benevolent organization Andranik Nikoghosyan.

The restoration marks the organization's second large-scale project following the renovation of the Hill of Honor in Gyumr, which was opened in August last year with the participation of Serzh Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev.

The date of the solemn opening ceremony of the memorial will be announced in the next couple of days.
