HAK does not exclude repetition of March 17 scenario
Yerevan Municipality has again banned the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) from rallying supporters at Liberty Square on April 8 and offered the opposition to stage the rally near the Matenadaran.
HAK representative Vahagn Khachatryan, who personally submitted the application to the Mayor's Office, believed that some changes took place in the country after the opposition's rally on March 17.
"However, I came here to find out that the authorities are incorrigible, and only a power change can correct the situation," Khachatryan told A1+.
Khachatryan did not preclude the repetition of March 17 scenario when HAK was able to enter Liberty Square and continue its rally on the grounds.
The rally is due to start at 5pm. near Matenadaran. It will be followed by a procession to Liberty Square, the main venue for political gatherings in Armenia.
