Over 5,000 people died from the March 11 earthquake in Japan, according to a new list of victims of the earthquake released by the Japanese government this morning.

However, this is only the number of people who were brought out from under the ruins. The Japanese government fears that number may double later.

In the meantime, there is an alarm of a new earthquake to strike Japan.

Underground convulsions follow one after another in Japan and there may be a new tsunami.

The Japanese are more afraid of the damages caused by the "Fukusima 1" nuclear plant than the tsunami. Currently, military helicopters are pouring tons of water over the nuclear plant's reactors to freeze them.

Recuperative efforts for energy supply are also foreseen at the nuclear plant in order to allow control over the cooling system and put an end to the ongoing outflow of radiation.

Local mass media outlets have already informed that there is slight radiation of drinking water in Fukusima.

Nevertheless, experts are seriously concerned over the situation at the nuclear plant and compare the disaster to Chernobyl.
