Armenians portrayed as slain pigeons
Support A1+!13-year-old Mikael Harutyunyan learned to paint on his own. He did not attend any art school or club. At the age of 10, Mikael already painted on canvas and found profound pleasure in it.
"The painters who attended my exhibitions always shared their knowledge with me and I tried to follow their advice. They taught me to mix the tints," said Mikael.
The boy's paintings cover different themes starting from religion to rural life. He also has a lot of portraits, among them the pictures of Aivazovsky and Saryan.
The paintings embody the idea of eternity.
"One of the paintings is devoted to the Armenian Genocide where I Armenians are portrayed in the form of slain pigeons while Turks are crowns that tear these pigeons. The pomegranate symbolizes the longevity of the Armenian people," said Mikael.
Arno Babajanyan concert hall will host the debut exhibition of the young artist.
