Chairman of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Vahan Hovhannisyan welcomes OSCE Minsk Group's initiative to carry out an investigation along the Line of Contact in connection with the recent reports of ceasefire violations.

"If the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs succeed in persuading Azerbaijan to conduct an investigation along the line of contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces, it will be significant progress in the conflict resolution. But I am convinced that Baku will hamper the investigation as in most cases the truce was violated by Azerbaijan," said Vahan Hovhannisyan.

Hovhannisyan does not pin great hopes on the upcoming visit of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Audronius Azubalis.

Speaking about the opposition's demands voiced during the March 1 rally, Hovhannisyan said, "Similar demands have been made in Armenia for the last twenty years. The opposition raises concrete social issues which should be kept in the limelight. However, they should not be sounded as an ultimatum."

Asked whether a revolution is likely to burst out in Armenia, the ARFD representative said, "I do not see revolutionary moods in the country though the atmosphere is tense, people are disappointed and in utter despair."

Dwelling on the recent clashes between Heritage MPs and policemen, Vahan Hovhannisyan said, "The culture of boycott is not developed in Armenia."
