Armenian FM: “EP is not a format to discuss Karabakh issue”
On March 3, Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the meeting of meeting of Foreign Ministers of Visegrád Four (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary).
Catherine Ashton, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union (EU), and Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, also attended the meeting.
The meeting was held to mark the 20th anniversary of V4 and to address prospects of cooperation between the Eastern Partners and the European Union.
Edward Nalbandian presented the main directions of Armenia-EU cooperation outlining Armenia's expectations from expanded partnership with EU.
Responding to the comments of the head of Azerbaijani delegation the Armenian FM stressed that Eastern Partnership project is not a format to discuss and settle the Karabakh issue. Nalbandian emphasized that the only format for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict is the OSCE Minsk Group, established and supported by the international community.
