More bandits
The UN International Council for Supervision of Drug Circulation has released its annual report.
Touching upon the state in Armenia, the authors of the report state: "In October 2010, the Council's mission arrived in Armenia and registered the willingness of the country's leadership to fulfill the demands stated in the three international conventions overseeing drug circulation and signed by Armenia. However, the Council members revealed certain flaws in the coordination and exchange of information by government agencies working in this sphere and the UN experts have called on the Armenian government to fill the gap."
Alongside that, according to Radio "Azatutyun", the authors of the report note that there are more bandits involved in the illegal narco-business in Armenia. According to the authors, these groups are involved in producing illegal drugs and proof of that are the underground laboratories found in Armenia in 2010.
The authors of the report note that the sharp rise of similar crimes is the direct effect of the activation of bandits involved in trading narcotics. "In the first half of 2010, there were 811 crimes connected to the illegal circulation of drugs and sedatives in Armenia, which is 50% more than the number registered in the same period in 2009," as registered by the UN experts.
