"We have gathered here to make our voice audible to the authorities," Armenian filmmaker and Sardarapan Movement member Tigran Khzmalyan addressed the People's Party (ZhK) rally at Matenadaran on Friday.

We shall not let the authorities sell the future of our children for 30 pieces of silver as Judas did in time," said Khzmalyan.

"February is a painful month for Armenians. It is associated with the Sumgait pogroms, the rigged 2008 elections and their grave consequences. Let us say "no" to fraudulent elections which resemble casinos where people never win," he said.

"The Armenian people long for three important things - freedom, justice and dignity - three notions that start with the same letter in Armenian. To come out of the situation we need a pan-Armenian movement," Khzmalyan added.

"We are stepping a fatal phase. We can no longer live in these conditions. On the path to the new life we should try to maintain our unity," said former member of "Karabakh" committee Ashot Manucharyan.

He thinks that power change can be realized in a day.
"The day will be decided by honest people who are concerned over the country's future and it will mark the meeting of Armenian citizens," he said.

In his speech, Armenian parliamentarian Vardan Khachatryan emphasized the importance of hasty changes.
ZhK Leader Tigran Karapetyan urged the ralliers to show a red card to the authorities who have done no good to their people.

Just at that moment the participants of the rally raised the red cards distributed by the party activists before the rally.

"We shall not tolerate ill-treatment. Officials' sweet words are fraught with conflicts," said Karapetyan.
In its next really on March 21 People's Party will call on the authorities to quit power.

On March 1, the party will hold a candle lighting ceremony near the Statue of Myasnikyan to commemorate the victims of March 1, 2008.
