Libyan turmoil causes oil shortage
Libya is said to have disrupted oil supplies amidst escalating pro- and anti-government protests across the country.
Libya is the world's 12th-largest oil exporter and a source of high-quality crude oil, most of which flows to Europe. Libya's crude exports have almost halted because of reduced production, a lack of staff at ports and security concerns, Reuters said on Friday.
Before the start of protests, Libya alone exports at least 1,5 million barrels of crude a day.
Clashes in Iraq have forced a leading oil company to halt its activities. The quantity of benzene and energy is also expected to drop in the country.
