Armenia is not going to evacuate its citizens from Egypt, Spokesman for the RA Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan told A1+.

The decision on evacuation has not been taken yet.

Hotline was opened in Armenia's embassy in Cairo for RA citizens in Egypt last week. Armenia's citizens can contact the embassy by calling at +20122163850. About 200 Armenian citizens (40 from Cairo and 160 from Sharm el Sheikh) have contacted the Embassy through the hotline.

The recent violent clashes in Egypt forced many countries (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Germany, USA, Russia, and Azerbaijan) to displace their citizens. Diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations are also leaving the country.

Armenia operated the last charter flight to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, on January 25. The return flight is set for February 5.

A1+ has contacted tour agencies to learn about the changes of Armenia-Egypt charter flights.

Some tour agencies informed A1+ that they do not operate flights, others said no changes have been made in flight schedules.

Tez Tour agency will operate the next flight to Egypt on February 5.

Anti-government protests started in Egypt on January 25, with crowds of tens of thousands demanding President Hosni Mubarak step down after three decades in power. At least 150 people were killed and about 4,000 injured in anti-government protests in Egypt.
