Once again, Baku is the first one interpreting the trilateral meeting of the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani presidents. The three presidents met in Moscow on January 24.

In an interview with the Arabic service of Russia Today, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammedyarov said he left for Moscow with only one purpose.

"The purpose was to propose routes for resolving the conflict through Russia's intermediation," said Mammedyarov, adding that Azerbaijan is striving for peace and stability in the Caucasus and that this primarily refers to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

"We need to find routes that take the interests of all sides into account," said Mammedyarov.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also stated that it is necessary to solve the issue of victims registered after the ceasefire violations on the line of contact. Mammedyarov especially appreciated Russia's intermediation in having the sides of the conflict come to terms on the exchange of prisoners of war, victims and bodies.

During the interview, Mammedyarov once again underlined the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of the Madrid Principles and said the current situation can't go on for a long time.

"All resources need to be used in order to register progress," said Mammedyarov.
