Session at the RA Ministry of Defense
The public council under the RA Minister of Defense held a session at the RA Ministry of Defense. During the session, the council recapped the year 2010, discussed the working plan for 2011 and president of the council Gegham Harutyunyan delivered a report on the council's activities in 2010.
In 2010, members of the public council under the RA Minister of Defense visited 60 military units of the armed forces, studied the issues related to soldiers' health maintenance and treatment, as well as the procedures for receiving recruits and releasing contractual soldiers and the social-legal protection of soldiers.
Within the framework of the program "Pages of history and culture", well-known intellectuals gave 241 lectures at military units. The recruitment commission under patronage of the public council received, studied and proceeded with 82 application-complaints after observing the 2010 spring and fall army recruitment.
RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan expressed gratitude to members of the public council for their work, mentioning that the public council is an important link between the army and the society and can help ensure public support for the solution to issues facing the army.
