Disrespected the flag?

Politics

Declaration by the "People's Power" public-political initiative

"After seizing power, in the past three years the bandit regime has further deepened the political, social-economic and moral-psychological state in the country. The lack of ability to withstand the domestic and foreign challenges facing the country goes to show once again the need for special elections and is pushing the authorities to take measures aimed at fixing the situation which are characteristic of the authoritarian regime of the Soviet era with "radiant" rallies and the useless "red ribbon" cutting ceremonies.

The "most impressive" staged event was Serzh Sargsyan's speech at the solemn session dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Republican Party of Armenia, which was held with the RA national flag under his feet. Such disrespect toward the first symbol of the country is embarrassing and is equivalent to national betrayal.

The most failed and humorous political act was the "parade" of dismissals. That series of measures can't be qualified as a show of shady processes of redistributing the domestic forces and capital, which in turn is presented as a stage of the fight against corruption to the world.

The next staged political act was under the government's pressure. During special sessions of the National Assembly, those "elected by the people" discussed and adopted nothing more and nothing less than 130 draft laws after three readings. The "hard-working" coalition parties voted for the reduction of means allocated to the socially disadvantaged from the "social" budget that violates RA citizens' interests and, of course, the draft laws aimed at serving the criminal oligarchs' interests and filling their pockets such as the laws on making changes in and additions to the laws on accumulative pension, taxing, employment, environmental protection and urbanization. The greatest gift from the so-called legislators was the adoption of the draft law on making changes in the law "On Language" and "On Public Education". They ignored the calls from civil society and patriotic intellectuals. The political coalition guided by the political majority following Nzhdeh imposed a change which caused a severe blow to Armenian education and national identity and steered the preservation of Armenian identity toward a wrong path.

And finally, the political coalition and its clients which are stuck in corruption and crime have become the gravest danger threatening the country's independence and national security. With that said, they must leave as soon as possible."
