Yerevan Elders’ Council is electing Yerevan Mayor
Yerevan Elders' Council is holding a sitting on December 17 to elect Yerevan Mayor.
Presently, head of ArmRosGazprom Karen Karapetyan is making a speech. His candidature has been offered by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) in the HHK Council’s meeting on December 16.
Fifty-three council members are participating in the sitting.
The results will be published in a few hours.
Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan resigned office on December 8. The decision was prompted by an incident between the Mayor and employee of the presidential staff's protocol department Aram Kandayan.
