Manouchehr Mottaki dismissed
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki stepped down on Monday and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad assigned Vice-President and the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency Organization Ali Akbar Salehi as caretaker of the Foreign Ministry, Iran's official IRNA news agency reports.
In a letter to Manouchehr Mottaki, President Ahmadinejad said he appreciates Mottaki's diligence and services as the foreign minister.
Manouchehr Mottaki is presently in Senegal on an official visit.
