Film shows hostility and incompatibility between Armenians and Azerbaijanis
Shootings of the film "Interrupted Song" began in Moscow. This film exposes relations between an Armenian and Azerbaijani who appeared in a deep pit. It shows the complicated relations and age-long hostility between the two peoples through the main characters.
The film shot by the financial assistance of Armenian youth has become a topic of heated discussions among Armenian and Azerbaijani citizens of Moscow.
The film is meant to present the historical realities which prevent the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
Director Arik Manukian says he did not aim to justify any of the charcaters or give assessments to antagonistic relations of the two nations which is apparent even at the presidential level.
Producer Ashot Poghosian says that the film depicts the bitter reality in true colours and shows that Armenians and Azerbaijanis are ethnically incompatible.
"The reality can be concealed in politics but not in arts. To change the situation we need to call things by their proper names. This is what we are trying to do in the film. There is only one truth, no matter how others call it - "incitement of hatred" or "incitement of war," said the producer.
The psychological drama will be premiered in Moscow in spring 2011.
