“Clinton will come with a portfolio”
"Why didn't Serzh Sargsyan participate in the summit in Lisbon? Why did he go to Astrakhan? He shouldn't have gone there either," says first self-defense commander of Artsakh Arkadi Karapetyan.
According to Arkadi Karapetyan, freedom fighters living in the NKR are not sure if Serzh Sargsyan will surprise them. "You can't play with people's destinies. You have to lead a policy so that a decision to go or not to go to Lisbon will not have an impact on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement," Mr. Karapetyan told "A1+".
He is certain that the statement issued by the "Veterans of the Karabakh War" welcoming Serzh Sargsyan's decision to not visit Lisbon doesn't express the views of freedom fighters living in Arstakh. "People who have been in war will not give up their homeland."
Karapetyan says the biggest issue is that people don't know where the government is leading the country.
Coordinator of "Fraternity of Freedom Fighters" Ararat Asryan places no importance on Serzh Sargsyan's decision to go to Lisbon or not. "I am certain that he will do everything to not go to Astana either. But his time is up anyway."
What does that mean? In response, Asryan said: "The time has come for Serzh Sargsyan to fulfill his promises. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will not be solved in Turkmenistan where the president is talking about the conflict, but in more serious centers".
Ararat Asryan doesn't exclude that Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev will be imposed to sign a document in Astana. "There is information according to which Hillary Clinton will go to Astana with a package of initially signed documents. There was a time when the Israeli Prime Minister and the President of Egypt were also forced to sign a document and the same may happen to Aliyev and Sargsyan in Astana."
Meanwhile, Ararat Asryan says Serzh Sargsyan will not hand over lands. "If he signs any document, he will find himself in a cell at the National Security Service as a traitor. The government must think about not committing new crimes against the people. Nothing will change regardless of whether Serzh Sargsyan goes to Astana or not. He had asked the U.S. to give him 2 years to settle the conflict and Obama added another 6 months. Now the time is up."
Ararat Asryan says it should be mentioned that there are no authorities in the NKR today. "The so-called NKR authorities fined all entrepreneurs 2-27 million drams in early November for no reason. If the majority of those people sell their properties, they still won't be able to pay the fines until January. Dictatorship is worse here than in any other place."
