Yerevan authorities have rejected the opposition's notification on holding a mass meeting at Liberty Square on December 10, International Human Rights Day.

Armenian National Congress (HAK) Coordinator Levon Zurabyan today visited the Yerevan Municipality to know the reasons for refusal.

"Liberty Square will be busy till the end of December. Rehearsals of New Year celebrations are planned to take place at the square till the yearend," said Municipality representative Gagik Baghdasaryan.

Since September 17, the city authorities have rejected opposition's 38 notifications for rallies for different reasons; saying that the square would host other events on that particular day and suggesting the opposition gather at some other place.
