Japan to support negotiations?

The Armenian and Japanese Foreign Ministries held political consultations in Yerevan.

Heading the Armenian delegation was RA Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Manasaryan, while the Japanese delegation was headed by Special Representative on the Caucasus of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Masaru Vatanabe.

During the consultations, the sides discussed a broad range of issues related to bilateral relations, including the development of the legal-contractual field, cooperation within international organizations, economic partnership, promotion of trade-economic relations and the activation of cultural ties.
The sides also addressed regional issues. Upon the request of Japanese diplomats, the Armenian delegates presented the latest developments of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. The Japanese side expressed its support in the process of negotiations for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.

After the consultations, the head of the Japanese delegation gave a lecture on "Eastern Asia and Japan" at the diplomatic school of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
