Azerbaijan edited the formula
After learning its lesson from the failed deal of "petrol + geography (in advance) in exchange for Karabakh", Azerbaijan edited that formula , that is, "first Karabakh, then gas" and is proposing it to Washington, Moscow, Brussels and Ankara.
This is what head of the NA "Heritage" faction Styopa Safaryan announced during the 5th Energy Forum held in the Polish city of Sopot. In the context of the forum, the sides discussed issues related to energetic policies and security.
According to Safaryan, Ankara is also playing a two-sided game with the West by participating in the Nabucco project on the one hand and building its competitor-the "Southern Flow"-with Moscow on the other.
If both projects succeed, according to the deputy, Turkey will increase its influence in the region and will favor both the West and Russia. If the Nabucco project fails, Turkey will punish the West and underline its importance.
