New report on political prisoners
The wives of Armenian political prisoners today staged a protest action outside the office of the RA Prosecutor General.
"We see some progress in the issue. I think, the political prisoners will be freed soon," said Melissa Brown, member of the Union of Political Prisoners' Wives.
The protesters came to the conclusion after the CoE Secretary General said in his speech ‘people convicted for their political orientation.'
"Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland is already informed about our concerns and existence of political prisoners in Armenia. We only ask him to assist in their release," said the protesters.
They are going to make a report on the Armenian political prisoners providing information on their biography and political background. The report will be sent to local and international organizations.
