SCADA exploited
Serzh Sargsyan today attended the ceremony for exploitation of the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for Armenia's energy system.
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan presented Serzh Sargsyan with the possibilities of the system of significance for Armenia's energetic sphere, the special programs which will help optimize production of electricity at stations, reduce losses to a minimum, as well as make correct predictions and calculations of the system's stability.
The introduction of the system provides the opportunity for more effective management of the energy system based on the data acquired in real time, as well as raising the level of reliability of functioning.
The implementation of the system of supervisory control and data acquisition will be held in several stages. The head of state was introduced to the programs envisaged to be held in stages. The RA Government and the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (currently the International Cooperation Agency of Japan) have signed a loan agreement.
Attending the ceremony for exploitation of the SCADA system was Japan's Ambassador to Armenia Masaharu Kono. Kono considered the project as one of the best examples of the friendship and cooperation between Armenia and Japan and mentioned that Japan is willing to support the initiatives aimed at developing Armenia's economy from now on.
