A "People's Television" Foundation has been established in defense of freedom of speech and to ensure "A1+"'s participation in the licensing tender.

The idea of this Foundation is to have each person make a contribution to the development of the people's free and fair television in Armenia such as "A1+". The amount can even be symbolic.

The Foundation's 9-member board of trustees will be in charge of organizing a fundraising campaign.

The board includes President of Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardyan, Executive Director of "Internews" NGO Nune Sargsyan, member of the National Commission on Television and Radio (2001-2007), prose writer Karine Khodikyan, actor Karen Janibekyan, secretary of "Heritage" faction Larisa Alaverdyan, Head of "Forum" Center for Rights Tigran Ter-Yesayan, President of "Asbarez" Journalists' Club of Gyumri Levon Barseghyan, Director of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor office Artur Sakunts and Editor-in-chief of "Aravot" daily Aram Abrahamyan.

The Foundation's board of trustees will be a special supervisory body and the one to take the people's requests and demand their fulfillment from "A1+".

In this case, the important thing is the number of participants and not how much people deposit on their accounts.

The National Commission on Television and Radio will announce the results of the licensing tender on December 16 and those that receive licensing will be on air for 10 years.
