Another tragic 40 years?
It would be very tragic if the Karabakh issue remained unsolved for another 40 years," EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby said in an interview with Kommersant.
"The conflict has been continuing too long. It poses real threat to the region, to the regional countries, since the conflict does not exist in a vacuum. It's necessary to make greater efforts to solve the conflict," Semenby said.
According to EU Special Envoy, it is necessary to reinforce the observance of the cease-fire regime at the Line of Contact between Azerbaijani and Karabakh armed forces.
Of course, the ceasefire does not solve problems, but it contributes to the normalization of the negotiation process," Mr. Semenby stated.
