Who can Armenians eat dolma with?
Chairman of the Armenian Pan-National Movement (HHSh) Aram Manukyan says the declaration reached in Potsdam, Germany, is a great achievement for Armenia.
"The declaration signed between the Armenian Pan-National Movement, Azerbaijan's Misavat party and the Republican Party of Georgia is an unprecedented document. HHSh did what the Armenian authorities were to do years ago," Aram Manukyan told reporters on October 18.
Mr. Manukyan is not concerned about the criticism sounded against the declaration.
"Let Serzh Sargsyan have the courage to sign an agreement with Azerbaijan and say he is in favour for the principle of peaceful settlement. When the Armenian authorities started football diplomacy with Turkey and ate dolma with them, no one spoke against them. To establish peace with our enemy, we need to sit at the same table and sign documents. Shall we finally resolve the conflict of Karabakh? I am in favor of all kinds of contacts that will bring peace to the country, to the region, and we think that the conflict must be resolved peacefully," he said.
Speaking about the Azerbaijani Musafat Party, Mr Manukyan noted that it is Azerbaijan's liberal power that has been persecuted by the Azerbaijani ruling authorities.
"They are people who used to fight from the other side of the trench during the Karabakh war. That is to say the men fighting from the both sides of the trench think that the conflict should be settled through peaceful talks," HHSh chairman said.
