Picket held in Baku over Dashnaks’ arrival
A group of members of Karabakh Liberation Organization attempted to picket outside Baku Business Center against the Socialist International's regional meeting on CIS, Caucasus and Black Sea.
The picketers protested against the arrival of ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Bureau member Mario Nalpandian and head of the Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Kiro Manoyan.
according to Azerbaijani ANS, the protesters chanted "Dashnaks have no place in Azerbaijan." The police dispersed the picket. Some of the picketers have been detained. Though one of the members of the organization entered the meeting, he was expelled from the building.
"Such meetings help to create confidence between the sides," Kiro Manoyan, told journalists in Baku during the break.
"The negotiations are conducted by the leaders of the countries. However, such events are also in a sense of dialogue and very important step toward the solution of the Nagorno Karabakh problem," Manoyan told APA.
It is due to mention that the meeting was due at 10 a.m. but it started at 3 p.m. as the hotel administration had some problems with Mario Nalpandian's documents.
