Is Pashinyan’s life jeopardized?
On the night of September 27, journalist of "Chorrod Ishkhanutyun" daily Gohar Veziryan telephoned the Quick Response Group of RA Human Rights Defender to inform that the life of Nikol Pashinyan is periled in Kosh penitentiary.
QRG Representatives immediately left for Kosh to meet the inmate. At Pashinyan's request, prison head L. Baghdasaryan participated in the conversation.
Pashinyan refuted the information and said he had not been subjected to physical violence and harassment.
During the meeting, Pashinyan raised a number of issues concerning the unfavourable conditions of the penitentiary institution and the illegal actions of the prison administration.
He promised to present his concerns in his articles and in a letter addressed to the Ombudsman.
Mr. Baghdasaryan said he bore full responsibility for the security of each inmate, including Nikol Pashinyan.
