Vietnam syndrome perceived in Armenian army
Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Hrayr Karapetyan believed that the person who humiliates and mocks two soldiers in a video posted on Youtube last week will be disclosed and punished.
"I am sure of it as I personally know Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan. I am sure that he wants to change our army," Hrayr Karapetyan announced in the National Assembly on Sept. 17.
Speaking about the video Mr. Karapetyan compared it with the Vietnam syndrome put into circulation after the Vietnam War on US foreign policy in 1975.
Chairman of the Republican parliamentary faction Galust Sahakyan is concerned about the psychological state of the society.
"These separate cases must not give ground for criticism and defamation of the Armenian army. Rather, we must back our army. Our army reflects the general moods in our society," he said.
