Picketers are determined to continue their struggle
The RA NA Committee on Education and Science was scheduled to discuss Wednesday the issue of including the package of amendments to the RA Laws on Language and Public Education in the draft agenda of the upcoming session.
"We are Against the Re-Opening of Foreign-Language Schools" political movement today staged a silent picket outside the Armenian parliament against the opening of foreign-language schools in Armenia.
Protester Aghavni Sahakyan said the movement would do its utmost to kill the bill.
"We want our officials to understand that we live in Armenia where the official language is Armenian and education must be in Armenian. We shall allow no foreign-language school to open in our country," she said.
Picketers stood outside the NA building for an hour though they were informed that the package was not included in the four-day sitting of the upcoming session.
