"The president should clean his house first"
"Generally speaking, how can you demand your neighbor to be honest when you are not honest to your people?" singer-composer Ruben Hakhverdyan addresses Serzh Sargsyan.
The composer shares Serzh Sargsyan's evaluations on the state of Karabakh, but says that "the president should have the right to talk about the Turks only after he cleans his own house" and to clarify, he said that he referred to the events of March 1 and the current political prisoners."
According to him, coverage of the current process of the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations is not too transparent. "Armenian presses mainly talk about the effects and not the reasons. They don't talk about the issue from its origin. For instance, when Serzh Sargsyan says we must start with the paper, does that mean he should start with himself?"
Ruben Hakhverdyan assured that he has no goal to fawn on or appeal to any political circle because all "so-called political parties have turned into clans". The only political party he trusts in is the ARF, though he is not inspired by most of the ARF's steps taken in the last couple of years.
