The RA Government held today a session headed by RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

The RA Government has granted 5 billion drams with the purpose of funding the first component of the Economic Stability Credit Plan from the state loan provided by Russia in 2009.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan mentioned that the government had set specific conditions for implementing the credit plan last year. The purpose was to export products and promote the development of tourism. In the past year, the program has been rather successful. There are clear results, including an 8.8% economic growth in the past months. Taking these facts into account, the government finds it appropriate to grant another 5 billion drams to the Central Bank for additional credit to the economy.

To import wheat

During the session, the government made redistributions in the 2010 state budget, changes in the previously adopted resolution and granted 558000 drams to the Ministry of Agriculture to procure wheat fertilizers from local producers and abroad for "Elite" reproduction. The program will provide the opportunity to produce 115-120,000 ha of wheat areas and increase the current self-sufficient level of wheat from 37 to 55 percent. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that there have not been high-quality fertilizers imported to Armenia in the past years.

"Available housing"

The RA Government has taken the decision to donate a part of the buildings adjunct to the "Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry after A. L. Mnjoyan at the RA National Academy of Sciences" located on 26 Azatutyun Street of Yerevan to the "YSU Graduates Association" NGO. The purpose of providing the buildings is to construct multifunctional condominiums through the program "Available homes for young scientists and members of creative unions".

Studies have shown that there are currently over 300 young scientists working at the Academy and they are in urgent need of acquiring homes and better housing conditions.

The "Yerevan State University Graduates Association" NGO has also undertaken the initiative to implement the social program for "Supporting apartment construction for young families" in the RA provinces.

During the first stage of the program, a condominium will be built in Kapan city with 300-320 apartments for hundreds of young families.

Prisoners can be donors

The government gave consent to the draft law on making an addition to the RA Law on "Injecting organs and/or tissues in humans" which envisages allowing prisoners to be donors, if the recipient is a close relative of the latter.
