Yerkrapah Volunteers Union denounces Azerbaijani act of sabotage

Politics

Yerkrapah Union of Volunteers (YKM) has issued a statement calling on the international community to condemn the recurrent provocation of Azerbaijan. The statement reads, in part:

"Azerbaijan's attempts to organize provocations at the line of contact, send subversive group to the territory of Armenia and Artsakh have become more frequent recently. The height of impudence was the incident registered near Chaylu village in Martakert region that took place hours after the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents mediated by the President of Russia.

Actually, the Azeri side demonstrates an obvious disrespect for Artsakh, the Russian President, the international community, as a whole, and its own commitments. What happened on June 18 was a threat to shaky peace. Azerbaijanis proved again that peace means nothing to them. Neither do the innocent human victims.

The fact has angered the whole Armenian nation. We condole with the relatives of the boys that fell victims to this act of sabotage. The Yerkrapah Union of Volunteers declares that such cases should not remain unpunished."

The Union has always backed and will back the Armenian people, Armenian statehood and protection of the territories liberated at the cost of Armenians' blood.

The Union calls on the international community to denounce the recurrent provocation of Azerbaijan. Do not make us silence Azerbaijan's provocations and punish the criminal since it does not stem from regional interests. The Union is ready to protect its country and people if there is no other alternative.

Arsakhi people have earned independence by the right to self-determination granted by the international community and due to the sacrifice of their sons. Arsakh has determined its borders which can no longer become a subject of bargaining.

We remind Azerbaijanis that they will be severely punished if they dare repeat a similar act of sabotage. Just remember how you were begging Armenia to conclude a truce. But for our Christian mentality, we would have liberated more territories. If you are unable to live in peace and respect human values, do stop for the sake of your country and your people, otherwise you will face hard times."
