Veterans demand meeting with RA President
"Union of Karabakh War Veterans" today gathered outside the presidential residence with a demand to meet the country's head. They stood in silence until Union Chairman Arkadi Karapetyan was invited to the Department of Letters to present their demands.
The veterans demand to recruit home guards and not to cede a single inch of land. It does not mean that every man must be on the front. It means that Armenians can reach Baku in half an hour, Arkadi Karapetyan said.
Azerbaijan's subversive attack speaks of Armenia's "self-confidence."
"No one can settle national issues if the nation is asleep. Similarly, no one can do anything if the nation is awake. If we are strong, we can avert all wars. The enemy is tempted by our feebleness and attacks us seeking victory. They are looking at us and thinking that we are weak and easily vulnerable. We all witnessed the outcome."
Arkadi Karapetyan says the only way out is to unite Artsakh with Armenia.
The veterans are going to visit President Serzh Sargsyan upon his return from Germany.
