Baku calls for new-quality negotiations
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has commented on the recent trilateral meeting of the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents in St. Petersburg.
The meeting held an extensive exchange of views, he said. "We believe any meeting at the presidential level, especially with the Russian leader's participation, is important in finding a solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Spokesman for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov said.
"Such meetings always give us hope to find ways leading to a mutually acceptable resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. At the same time, he underlined that the parties should better the qualities of presidential meetings."
"It would be better if the Armenian side recognized the need to transfer the number of meetings on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement in quality," Polukhov noted.
"Azerbaijan's position is that today exist a document submitted by the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides allowing to reach a new level of negotiations," the Azerbaijani MFA spokesman added.
