Belgia welcomes
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Armenia Stefan de Loker presented his credentials to Serzh Sargsyan.
Serzh Sargsyan congratulated Mr. De Loker on assuming office and expressed hope that he would make a considerable contribution to the development of Armenia-Belgium relations.
The RA President noted that Armenia was interested in deepening the Armenian-Belgian cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. The parties attached special importance to the cooperation under the Eastern Partnership Program.
The interlocutors exchanged views on regional issues. Ambassador De Loker said the Belgian government welcomes the Armenian President's efforts targeted at the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey and expresses its support in this complex and hard process.
At the request of the Ambassador, President Sargsyan presented Armenia's approaches toward the current stage of the negotiations on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
Touching upon President Sargsyan's upcoming visit to Brussels, the parties expressed confidence that it would serve as an additional impetus for the further development of the Armenian-Belgian relations, as reported by the presidential press office.
